The lady returns Rita to Runt. While she meets the kittens, Rita and Runt hide. Surprised that they disappeared, the lady correctly assumes Rita and Runt always planned to part ways with the kittens once they found them a home. She adopts the kittens and leaves. Rita and Runt are left in tears at first, and go to take shelter from the incoming. This episode ends with a dedication to David M. Zdunich who died two days before the Season 5 premiere 's airing. Synopsis
At a French Restaurant, a kind lady is giving treats to Rita and Runt, who are hiding under a table. Rita and Runt’s cover gets blown when Runt steals a sheet. In the alley, Rita and Runt hide in a garbage pail.
Runt sees three pairs of eyes stare at them from the darkness, which turns out to be some stray kittens. Runt, thinking they’re puppies, is quick to father them, while Rita is extremely hesitant about being their “mother” and tries pushing them away. Eventually, she decides to get them food while Runt watches the kittens. She goes to the restaurant she and Runt hid in earlier and is abducted by the Head Chef. Fortunately, the lady rescues her.
The lady returns Rita to Runt. While she meets the kittens, Rita and Runt hide. Surprised that they disappeared, the lady correctly assumes Rita and Runt always planned to part ways with the kittens once they found them a home. She adopts the kittens and leaves. Rita and Runt are left in tears at first, and go to take shelter from the incoming rain.

Alas, Poor Skullhead
Animation by Tokyo Movie Shinsha, Ltd.
Yakko, with Mr. Skullhead playing the skull of Yorick, does the 'Alas, poor Yorick' soliloquy from Shakespeare's Hamlet, while Dot 'translates' for the viewers at home. In the background, Wakko keeps digging a big hole and finds interesting things, including Cher, and the next cartoon.

Kitten Mittens, also spelled Kitten Mittons by Charlie due to his illiteracy, are a cloth footwear made specifically for cats. The goal is to make them quieter when they walk around. They are first mentioned in the Season 5 episode 'Paddy's Pub: Home of the Original Kitten Mittens'.
Kitten Mittens are 'great for cats that are one legged, fat, skinny, or an in-between.'
They were part of The Gang's effort to sell merchandise related to Paddy's Pub, but a contract they signed without reading it gave The Lawyer 100% of the rights to Kitten Mittens and all the other merchandise they had created.
